The ICT on Heels mentorship programme is a platform where mentees can seek advice, insight and inspiration from each other and from mentors who have made strides in the ICT industry both as entrepreneurs and as professionals.

Women face many challenges that are unique when it comes to men in general when it comes to their career development such as  falling pregnant, juggling motherhood while constantly having to stay competitive. As a young woman starting out in the ICT industry, finding your niche and navigating to the top can be a daunting task. A lot of young women find themselves in unfulfilling roles and struggle to have a voice, make their current roles a success or even map their way to their ideal role. Similarly, a lot of women are also very capable of establishing companies that can revolutionise the ICT industry as a result of their expertise and overall experience but very few start-ups by women are being established.

Mentoring is a proven approach to drive rich learning and development for both mentees and mentors. Mentoring also benefits the sponsoring organisations. For employers, mentoring increases retention, promotion rates, and employee satisfaction. At universities, student mentoring is proven to improve student retention, boost job placement rates, and increase alumni engagement.

Our mentoring program runs for 10 months. Our key focus areas technical skills development, personal branding and leadership skills development.
